We should publish another list! In English, I think Nicholas Richard's "Mala Guerra" on Indigenous participation in the Chaco War, your own Grandchildren of Solano Lopez, and Whigham's series on the Guerra Guazu would definitely be up there. I'll see if I can find Michael's latest in Asuncion, it looks fantastic.
Mike’s work is beautiful. I don’t know if you will find it in ASU yet. It was just published in November. I would add Appleyard to your fiction list. Great stuff about Paraguayan life during the Stroessner era.
I am glad that Colombian author gave you that call because you got to tell us the names of Paraguayan authors. Since there is a debate regarding Roa Bastos I would love to read I the Supreme from a linguistic perspective.
What are your choices for history books??? I would highly recommend Michael Kenneth Huner’s new book. It’s beautiful.
